The Blackbird GMT – A personal memory Tribute
This GAVOX Squadron GMT is inspired by the legendary SR-71 Blackbird and its predecessor, the A-12—mythical aircraft that defined an era of speed and secrecy. For Michael Happé, founder of GAVOX, the connection is deeply personal. While studying in Yuba City, California, he lived just a few kilometers from Beale Air Force Base. Lunchtimes were often spent at the base fence, watching the Blackbird and the U-2 take flight.

That period was one of historic shifts: the fall of the USSR and the Berlin Wall, the debates in Belgium where the king briefly stepped aside over the abortion law. These moments marked a world in transition, and they are inseparable from the memories that fuel GAVOX’s passion for aviation and history.
